"Pssst; Look At Me"
Wildlife photo subjects can often be made to look in the direction of the camera by the photographer generating a simple attention-getting sound. One of the easiest to produce and most naturally responded to by wildlife is to shuffle one’s feet in the ground surface vegetation, such as leaves in the forest. Such natural sounds are nearly always quickly responded to by a quick look in the direction of the sound. Have your finger on the shutter release and be ready for that quick, inquisitive look that can produce a stunning photo with great intrigue.

With over 30 years experience as a professional photographer, outdoor writer, program presenter and naturalist, Tim Flanigan has enjoyed the recognition of national, state and regional photography and writing awards. Throughout his career as a nature photographer, he has been resolute to the rapidly changing technology and skills requisite for success. His work has been published on-line and in magazines, newspapers, calendars, phone book covers, pamphlets, postcards, advertisements and books. His image subjects range from insects to antelope to wildflowers to sturgeon, along with scenic shots taken from Alaska and Canada to Florida and coast to coast.
His presentations have appeared on radio, television, and video, at outdoor shows, sportsmen clubs, and state agencies and various conservation organizations and banquets. His printed photographic images have been exhibited in art galleries, festivals and art shows and grace the walls of collectors, numerous businesses and several restaurants. Tim has judged numerous photography and art competitions for the Carnegie Museum, Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show, National Junior Duck Stamp competition, the Pennsylvania Duck Stamp competition, and various national and state outdoor writing and photography competitions.
 Tim is a full time freelance writer and photographer and a contributing photographer for the Upland Almanac, Ruffed Grouse Society and Buckmasters online. His writing and photography may also be seen in Game and Fish Publications, Pennsylvania Outdoor News, Wildfowl Carving Magazine, North American Whitetail Magazine and the Pennsylvania Game News and Pennsylvania Game Commission calendars.
Since 1987, he has held memberships and offices, as well as served as president of state, national and nature photography and outdoor writing organizations that include Professional Outdoor Media Association (POMA), Outdoor Writers Association of America (OWAA), the Pennsylvania Outdoor Writers Association (POWA), the Mason-Dixon Outdoor Writers Association (M-DOWA), the North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA) and the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP).
Tim enjoyed a career in wildlife conservation for thirty years as a Wildlife Conservation Officer with the Pennsylvania Game Commission in Westmoreland and Bedford Counties.
Tim, and his wife Debbie, established Nature Exposure in 1987. Their photography and outdoor writing marketing business is located in beautiful Bedford, Pennsylvania. The business’s goal is to help educate, inspire and enhance the public’s appreciation of the natural world.
